ContractExpress enables salespeople to create contracts via an intuitive, self-service, browser based questionnaire. Only incomplete or non-complaint requests are routed to legal for review, while standard requests are made available via locked PDFs right away.


The Company

SolarCity, named one of Fast Company magazine’s 50 most innovative companies in the world, is a leader in financing, designing, installing, and operating solar power systems for residential and commercial customers in 14 states throughout the U.S. To automate its contract management and creation for hundreds of new transactions per year, it leverages ContractExpress. As a result, the company’s professionals can now independently complete a 20-30-question survey and seamlessly draft contracts to foster direct customer engagement, without facing legal scrutiny, which they jokingly refer to as the “sales prevention department.”

The intuitive and customizable ContractExpress interface eliminates the need for cumbersome Excel spreadsheets by inserting metadata into key fields for advanced tracking and archiving. It also accelerates the sales cycle by eliminating unnecessary paralegal support.  The company is now planning to implement ContractExpress for its non-disclosure and subcontractor agreements, as well as its vast array of residential transactions.
